The High Prairie Elks are a non-profit, volunteer based, community organization who have laboured to benefit our community since 1937. 2010 will be our 50^th anniversary of hosting a sanctioned event of the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association. The Elks High Prairie Rodeo has a reputation of being one of the top Pro rodeos in Alberta and draws people from several communities throughout Northern Alberta (Attendance has been in excess of 5,000 per day).

This year will be our third year of cooperating with Travel-Alberta North to attract more visitors to the Rodeo and our area. Some of the marketing/advertising initiatives we may be involved in are:

Transit systems bus signage (Edmonton & Grande Prairie)
Mobile advertising (back of transport trucks
Redesign of our web site
Poster and signage distributed throughout Northern Alberta
Radio Advertising on the Fox, CKYL & KIX106, and CFWE
Newspaper advertising in Slave Lake, Falher, High Prairie, and the Canadian Rodeo News.

By promoting both the Rodeo and the region we are attempting to make this a holiday destination. We believe that our annual Rodeo is a benefit to the entire region, providing affordable family entertainment and a source of revenue for local businesses.

Sponsorship in this annual event is an excellent means to remain visible and promote your community. The costs of hosting an event such as the Pro Rodeo are rising and it is only through the generosity of our sponsors and community volunteers that we are able to continue this summer celebration.
