The High Prairie Elks bring to High Prairie a Professional Rodeo each year, and in 2010 will be the 50th year. This is an exciting time for the Elks of High Prairie, as not only has this been such a huge success for the community and area, but also an astonishing achievement for the volunteers throughout the years.
This year's Rodeo marks the 50th Annual Elks Pro Rodeo in High Prairie and is sure to be one of the most entertaining ever. West Coast Amusements (midway), Elks Beer Garden and the Royal Purple Food Booth will all be there for your convenience. Rodeo days kick off with the annual Parade downtown on August 3rd. The parade is at 11:00a.m. and it is one of the largest in the Peace Country.
Featuring top-ranked professionally sanctioned cowboys/ cowgirls and award winning stock provided by Kesler Championship Rodeo this event is a ‘must-see’. The rodeo events include excitement and color with Saddle Bronc, Ladies Barrel Racing, Bareback, Bull Riding, Calf Roping, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping and the Wild Pony Race. Pony Chuckwagon and Chariot races are a crowd favorite. Amateur events include Junior Barrel racing, Wild Cow Milking, 3 Horse Flat Racing, Mutton’ Bustin’ and Calf Scramble are sure to keep you entertained!
Each day concludes with dancing in the Edmo Peyre Rodeo Hall and the “Biggest and Best” fireworks display in the Peace!
The High Prairie Elks are planned a jam-packed performance and some new attractions - something of interest for all age groups. So, come on out to the Elks Rodeo and enjoy what our community has to offer!
